WESTERNRY is a black-and-white photograph of the facade of an abandoned Western Railway station, photographed in Winona, Minnesota, in the 1970s: a massive arched wooden door dominates the left, its paint long peeled away, the panels dark and weathered, set into a brick surround with a decorative arch; to the right, a tall arched window with panes broken and jagged, a tangle of weeds and volunteer plants pushing up through the brick apron below; above the door, a painted sign reads "Western Ry. Station," the letters faded but legible; the brickwork is old and uneven, the mortar worn; the overall mood is one of patient, unhurried abandonment — a building that has been waiting a long time, and has stopped expecting anyone.

It is an original fine art photograph by Rick Graves, scanned from the original negative, printed on exhibition-quality paper with Epson SureColor pigment inks. Hand-packed and shipped from our local post office in Spring Green, WI.
