Sketchbook No. 80

This is a sketchbook that earns its place on your worktable. Bound by hand in the long-stitch tradition, it opens completely flat — no wrestling with the spine, no lost margins. The exposed stitching along the back is functional and quietly beautiful.

Cave Paper's red cover has the kind of depth that improves with handling. Each book is approximately 9.25 × 12" — generous enough for serious work, portable enough to use on the go.

Inside, 96 pages of 90# drawing paper take pencil, ink, and light washes with equal composure.

The corners are finished with hand-folded origami protectors — each one a small triangle of paper, secured with a brass fastener, wrapping both outside and inside the cover. They're meant to stay. They're also just a little bit wonderful.

Long-stitch binding has one particular advantage worth noting: the open spine accommodates ephemera. Tuck in cards, paste in photographs, fold in mementos — there's room for a life lived alongside the work.

Each book is one of six remaining. When they're gone, they're gone.
