Rocky Horror

ROCKY HORROR is a color landscape photograph of a grand Gothic Revival mansion photographed at dusk; the building is red brick with elaborate stone tracery, pointed arches, oriel windows, and a cylindrical corner tower, its warm interior light blazing amber through every window against a deep blue twilight sky stacked with dramatic clouds. Outdoor dining is set up on the terrace, umbrellas and café chairs just visible in the golden spill of light. In the foreground, a large ornamental fountain sculpture — figures rendered in bronze or stone — is illuminated from below in vivid, saturated green, casting an unearthly glow across the wet cobblestones at its base; the collision of warm amber and cold green light gives the scene a theatrical, slightly unhinged glamour; this is not a house — it is a set, and the show is about to begin. It has been fully refurbished but yes, this is where the movie was filmed in 1974.

It is an original fine art photograph by Rick Graves, printed on exhibition-quality paper with Epson SureColor pigment inks. Hand-packed and shipped from our local post office in Spring Green, WI.
