Photo Wrap No. 84
The distressed wood of a small urban garage door, preserved in its resplendent decay, is a photograph by Rick Graves. Joni trimmed the photo to cover size, attached a backing for the inside covers, and patiently rounded the spine before binding. The book's six signatures of grey faux-parchment paper are butterfly longstitch-bound with red polyester thread; the cover has been coated, to make it more durable, and has a 'cellophane noodle' elastic closure. ~4×5.5" 96 pages.
Friends who live in near-downtown Indianapolis say it was something of a local landmark and a popular location for wedding party photos. The last time I was there, the property had changed hands and a fortune was being spent on improvements — alas, the weathered door was no more.
The photograph from which the cover was cut is also shown in its entirety. Can you identify the segment used for the photowrap cover?
