Irrigation
IRRIGATION is a color photograph of a center-pivot irrigation system standing idle in a harvested field, shot from ground level so that the stubble fills the lower half of the frame and the steel truss structure rises against a blue sky with scattered clouds. A single large agricultural tire anchors the foreground, its tread caked with field dirt, while the latticed arm of the pivot extends diagonally into the distance, diminishing to a point at the horizon. The machine is enormous, the field is empty, and the photograph catches both in a moment of stillness — the season's work done, the equipment at rest.
The image is an original fine art photograph by Rick Graves, printed on exhibition-quality paper with Epson SureColor pigment inks. Hand-packed and shipped from our local post office in Spring Green, WI.
